A recent CT Insider article reported that The Fresh Market has been named the best grocery store in the country by USA Today’s 10Best reader poll. With four Connecticut locations–including Westport, CT–the chain also swept categories for best bakery, deli, produce, and prepared foods. Close behind, Norwalk’s own Stew Leonard’s ranked fifth nationwide and earned top-three spots for both its bakery and deli. Other popular chains with Connecticut stores, including Aldi and Wegmans, also made the list.
