Alan R. Peterson is one of the two co-founders of Choyce Peterson, Inc., a commercial real estate brokerage company which began in the first half of 1997. He brings to the firm over twenty-five years of commercial real estate experience. Alan handles regional, national and international requirements for local clients. With Alan Peterson as Account Manager, Choyce Peterson, Inc. was named, in early 1997, the North American Exclusive Tenant Representative for Mercedes-Benz Credit Corporation and the U. S. Exclusive Leasing and Acquisition Representative for Pepsi-Cola Company.
Prior to forming Choyce Peterson, Inc., Alan spent nine and a half years with the former Rostenberg-Doern Company as Senior Vice-President of National Accounts, ultimately becoming a principal of that firm. As Senior Vice-President of National Accounts, Alan’s primary responsibilities included handling local clients' requirements outside the region, interfacing with Rostenberg-Doern Company’s affiliated ONCOR International's offices throughout the world and representing non-local national firms with tenant requirements in the Fairfield and Westchester County regions. He has worked with major corporations such as: GTE, Pepsi Cola Company, American Brands, Mercedes-Benz Credit Corp., James River Corporation and Cendant Corporation. As ONCOR Manager, Peterson was directly responsible for Rostenberg-Doern Company being named the 1993 recipient of ONCOR International’s Chairman’s Award for the highest volume of national business among all ONCOR firms.
Prior to Rostenberg-Doern Company, Alan was employed by Champion International for twelve years. He began his career at Champion as an Internal Auditor and later acted as Contract Administrator for the construction of Champion's 500,000 square foot headquarters building. Assigned to the real estate department, Alan ultimately headed up the department as Director of Corporate Real Estate.
Alan has resided in Fairfield, CT, with his wife and family for over twenty years. He has a strong commitment to community support and was on the Board of Directors of the Domus Foundation, a Stamford, CT organization dedicated to nurturing at-risk youth. Alan was proudly named Fairfield YMCA’s Volunteer of the Year, coached soccer and basketball for the Fairfield Recreation Dept., and served as Assistant Scoutmaster for BSA Troop #89. He and his wife, Susan, founded a girls backpacking club under the auspices of the Boy Scouts of America Explorer program. Alan holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Trenton State College and an MBA from the University of Bridgeport.
