Fairfield University’s newly released Community & Economic Report highlights the incredible role the institution plays in strengthening Connecticut’s economy and community. For the 2024–2025 academic year, the University reported:
- $1.24 billion total economic impact
- $743.6 million in direct spending
- $500.9 million in induced spending
- 9,000 jobs created and supported
- Largest private employer in Fairfield
- 100,000 campus visitors for arts, athletics, student events, and tours
- 974 alumni-owned businesses in Connecticut
Additional highlights from the report include:
- Six career fairs connecting nearly 1,700 students with 292 companies
- Nursing students completing 546 clinical hours and 112 lab hours at 100+ regional hospitals and clinics
- More than 45,000 community service and engagement hours logged by students, faculty, and staff
- 208 free events hosted on campus for the community
- Partnerships with 95 local non-profits and organizations
- 33,000+ visitors to the Fairfield University Art Museum and Quick Center for the Arts
- 56,335 visitors for college athletics
- Fairfield Bellarmine’s first graduating class achieved an 80% graduation rate, with 96% students of color representing 11 communities
With more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students from 44 states and 46 countries, Fairfield University continues to broaden pathways to opportunity, strengthen the economy, and prepare students for meaningful lives.
