At Choyce Peterson, we’ve always believed that the best part of being based in Norwalk is the incredible community and, of course, the local food scene. That’s why we were thrilled to see a neighborhood favorite, Crust Issues, officially recognized on the national stage.
The travel publication 5 Reasons to Visit recently released its 2026 “America’s Best Pizza” list, and they named Crust Issues as the #1 pizza slice in the state of Connecticut.
“There is a polished yet welcoming vibe that keeps us coming back. It’s the perfect spot for a team lunch or a casual Friday treat.”
Why the Rest of the Country is Noticing
While Connecticut is famous for its New Haven-style “apizza,” the editors at 5 Reasons to Visit found something special right here in Norwalk. They praised Crust Issues for its:
- Modern Flair: A fresh approach to the classic pizzeria.
- The Perfect Crust: Noted for being exceptionally crisp and well-balanced.
- Creative Toppings: Bold flavor combinations that stand out in a competitive state.
Owner and Executive Chef John Nealon—who also brought us local staples like Taco Daddy—shared in an interview that he designed his pizza to be perfect at any time: whether you’re eating it fresh at the shop, in your car, or as a 3 a.m. snack straight from the counter.
A Choyce Peterson Team Favorite
While the national accolades are new, our team has been “in the know” for quite a while. We are huge fans of the crew at Crust Issues, and it has become one of our go-to destinations for team celebrations. We’ve spent several birthday lunches there, enjoying everything from their signature pan pizzas to their incredible salads and sandwiches.
