Circle Comedy’s Big Shift: Fairfield → Norwalk

After eight years of keeping Fairfield area audiences in stitches at the Circle Inn, Circle Comedy is packing up its weekly showcase and setting up in Norwalk at the Laurel Athletic Club starting in 2026. The move isn’t just geography — it’s a practical upgrade that gives the growing comedy crowd more space and better amenities while keeping that closein community vibe fans love.

Circle Comedy isn’t a newbie act either — the independent showcase has welcomed big names like Bill Burr, John Mulaney, Mike Birbiglia and Jessica Kirson over the years. Now, its next chapter unfolds in Norwalk with an exciting Friday lineup that includes Mike Recine (tonight-Jan. 16), and Ashley Austin Morris (Jan. 30).

Why the Move Matters

The decision to shift venues comes down to audience comfort and growth. The Laurel Athletic Club offers:

  • A larger performance space for bigger crowds.
  • Convenient parking and an easiertoreach location in Norwalk.
  • A full, affordable bar with no drink minimums — welcome news for showgoers.
  • A friendly, welcoming atmosphere that still feels local and communityfocused.

According to founder and comedy producer Joe Gerics, the relocation keeps the spirit of Circle Comedy intact while opening the door for more growth and great nights of laughter.

What to Expect at the Laurel Athletic Club

Located at 13 North Avenue in Norwalk, CT the Laurel Athletic Club is more than just a venue—it’s an experience. With a full food menu and bar, it’s the kind of place that turns a comedy show into a full night out. The space offers accessible parking and is wheelchair-friendly, making it welcoming for all guests. It’s also quickly earning a reputation as one of Norwalk’s go-to spots for culture and entertainment.

Whether you’re a die-hard comedy fan or just looking for a fun Friday night plan, Laurel is shaping up to be the place for local laughs.

Circle Comedy Beyond Norwalk

The organization isn’t abandoning its broader roots. Circle Comedy continues to present shows throughout Fairfield County and nearby New York venues, including performances by comedians like Tig Notaro, Shaun Murphy, and Paul Virzi at theaters and community spaces across the region.
