The landlord, RFR Realty LLC, was represented in-house in the transaction by Margaret Carlson, Portfolio Manager, Steve Lash, Leasing Director and Ed Wissell, Property Manager/Construction.Publically traded since 2014, Cara,a biotechnology company focused on the development and commercialization of pain therapeutics, appointed Choyce Peterson as its exclusive tenant representative to handle the search for a new headquarters and the negotiation of the financial and business terms of a new lease.

He approached Cognetta and Hannigan when his firm’s lease was set to expire and the building at 1120 Boston Post Road was scheduled to be part of the Corbin Drive Redevelopment at some point in the near future. Although Carta, McAlister & Moore lawyers were very happy with the location of their existing office, they followed Cognetta’s advice to look at neighboring buildings to understand the available market options.
